- How much does it cost to build an AI mobile app?
- The main driver is whether the app answers questions or takes actions in your systems — the second needs permissions, audit trails and a rollback path. Integrations and evaluation usually cost more than the AI itself. Our post on what an AI MVP actually costs breaks the structure down.
- Should I use React Native or native iOS and Android?
- React Native for most products: one codebase covers both platforms and native modules handle anything platform-specific. Native is the better answer when the app leans heavily on platform APIs, real-time graphics or very tight performance budgets — we will tell you when that is the case.
- Can AI run on-device, or does it need the cloud?
- Both, and the split is a design decision. On-device inference gives you privacy and offline behaviour for smaller models; cloud models give you capability. Many apps use on-device for classification and the cloud for generation.
- Will an AI app get approved on the App Store and Play Store?
- Yes, with the usual care: disclose AI-generated content where required, handle user data according to store policy, and provide moderation for anything user-facing. We handle submission and the review round-trips.
- Can you add AI to an app we already have?
- That is a common starting point and usually faster than a rebuild. See our AI modernisation page for how we approach adding AI to a product already in production.
